Day 1

Day 1: Arrival in Addis Ababa – City Photography & Preparation

  1. Arrival at Bole International Airportand transfer to hotel
  2. Visit Holy Trinity Cathedral– Stunning architecture & stained-glass windows
  3. Explore National Museum(home of Lucy fossil) for historical shots
  4. Sunset photography from Entoto Hills– Panoramic views over Addis
  5. Welcome dinner & briefing on photo expedition techniques
  6. Overnight in Addis Ababa

Day 2: Addis Ababa – Lalibela (Flight ~1 hr) – Rock-Hewn Churches

  1. Morning flight to Lalibela, Ethiopia’s spiritual heart
  2. Explore and photograph the rock-hewn churches(UNESCO site):
    1. Dramatic sunlight & shadow play in the church corridors
    2. Priest portraits in Bet Giyorgis(St. George’s Church)
    3. Candid street photography of pilgrims & monks
  3. Sunset photography of Lalibela’s landscape
  4. Overnight in Lalibela

Day 3: Lalibela – Abuna Yosef Highland Villages

  1. Early morning hike to Abuna Yosef(~4,300m)
  2. Capture traditional highland life & Afro-alpine scenery
  3. Portrait session with local shepherds & farmers
  4. Wildlife photography: Ethiopian wolves& gelada baboons
  5. Evening golden-hour photography in Lalibela town
  6. Overnight in Lalibela

Day 4: Lalibela – Addis Ababa – Drive to Awash National Park

  1. Morning flight to Addis Ababa, then drive (~5 hrs) to Awash National Park
  2. Sunset safari in Awash– Oryx, gazelles & dramatic landscapes
  3. Capture the powerful Awash Fallsat dusk
  4. Overnight in Awash Lodge
Day 5

Day 5: Awash – Harar (Drive ~4 hrs) – Ancient Walled City

  1. Drive to Harar, Ethiopia’s ancient Islamic city
  2. Street photography in Harar Jugol(UNESCO site):
    1. Colorful markets & alleyways
    2. Unique wooden doors & architecture
  3. Evening Hyena Man photography– Capture hyena feeding ritual
  4. Overnight in Harar

Day 6: Harar – Dire Dawa – Flight to Addis Ababa – Drive to Bishoftu

  1. Morning photography at Harar’s vibrant markets
  2. Drive to Dire Dawa(~1 hr) and take a flight to Addis Ababa
  3. Transfer to Bishoftu(Lake District, ~1 hr drive)
  4. Golden-hour shoot over Lake Babogayaor Lake Hora
  5. Overnight at a lakeside lodge

Day 7: Bishoftu – Addis Ababa – Final Photography Session

  1. Sunrise reflectionsover the lake
  2. Drive back to Addis Ababa (~1 hr)
  3. Last-minute photography session at a cultural site or coffee ceremony shots
  4. Farewell dinner with a slideshow review of the best photos from the trip
  5. Overnight in Addis Ababa

Day 8: Departure

  1. Free morning for final photo opportunities or shopping
  2. Transfer to Bole International Airportfor departure
