Day 1

Day 1: Addis Ababa – Bale Mountains National Park (Drive ~7 hrs)

  1. Early morning departurefrom Addis Ababa
  2. Drive via Ziway & Shashamene, enjoying scenic landscapes
  3. Stop at Lake Ziwayto see water birds and hippos
  4. Continue to Dinsho, the park’s headquarters
  5. Short walk in Dinsho Forest to spot:
    1. Mountain nyala
    2. Menelik’s bushbuck
    3. Warthogs
    4. Monkeys
  6. Overnight at Dinsho Lodge or similar

Day 2: Dinsho – Sanetti Plateau – Harenna Forest

  1. Drive to Sanetti Plateau(over 4,000m altitude)
  2. Explore Ethiopia’s "Roof of Africa" with stunning alpine scenery
  3. Look for the Ethiopian wolf, the world’s rarest canid
  4. Continue to the Harenna Forest, a mystical cloud forest
  5. Afternoon hike in the forest, spotting:
    1. Black-maned lions
    2. Colobus monkeys
    3. Unique flora
  6. Overnight in Harenna Forest Lodge

Day 3: Harenna Forest – Rira Village – Coffee Experience

  1. Visit Rira Village, home to local Oromo communities
  2. Experience traditional coffee-makingwith farmers
  3. Optional short hiketo Bale Mountain bamboo forest
  4. Relax at your lodge or take an optional guided night walk
  5. Overnight in Harenna Forest Lodge

Day 4: Harenna Forest – Goba – Sof Omar Caves

  1. Drive to Sof Omar Caves, the largest cave system in Ethiopia
  2. Explore underground passages and limestone formations
  3. Return to Gobafor an evening at leisure
  4. Overnight at Goba Wabe Shebelle Hotel

Day 5: Goba – Addis Ababa (Drive ~7 hrs)

  1. Early morning returnto Addis Ababa
  2. Scenic stops along the Rift Valley Lakes
  3. Free timefor shopping or relaxation

  5. Evening transferto Bole International Airport for departure
