Day 1

Day 1: Arrival in Addis Ababa

  1. Meet your guide at Bole International Airport.
  2. Optional:Evening cultural dinner with traditional Ethiopian music and dance.
  3. Overnight in Addis Ababa.

Day 2: Addis Ababa – Axum

  1. Flight to Axum, the ancient capital of the Aksumite Empire.
  2. Visit Obelisks of Axum
  3. Visit Queen of Sheba’s Palace
  4. Visit Ezana Stone
  5. Visit Church of St. Mary of Zion(believed to house the Ark of the Covenant)
  6. Overnight in Axum.

Day 3: Axum – Gheralta Mountains

  1. Visit tombs of Kings Kaleb & Gebre Meskeland Dungur Palace.
  2. Scenic 6-hour drive to Gheralta Mountains.
  3. Overnight in a lodge near Gheralta.

Day 4: Gheralta Mountains – Rock Churches Hike

  1. Hike to Abuna Yemata Guh, perched high on a cliff with stunning panoramic views.
  2. Visit Maryam Korkor& Daniel Korkor Churches.
  3. Overnight in a lodge near Gheralta.
Day 5

Day 5: Gheralta Mountains Exploration

  1. Explore lesser-known churches: Debre Tsion & Medhane Alem Adi Kasho.
  2. Learn about the spiritual significance of Tigray's rock churches.
  3. Overnight in a lodge near Gheralta.

Day 6: Return to Axum – Addis Ababa

  1. Drive back to Axum.
  2. Flight to Addis Ababa.
