Day 1

Day 1: Arrival in Addis Ababa

  1. Welcome at Bole International Airport.
  2. City tour: Visit the National Museum, Holy Trinity Cathedral, and Entoto Hills.
  3. Enjoy a traditional Ethiopian dinner with live cultural music.

Day 2: Drive to Arba Minch via Tiya and Dorze Villages

  1. Stop at the UNESCO-listed Tiya stelae field.
  2. Visit the Dorze tribe, known for their beehive-shaped huts and weaving skills.
  3. Overnight stay in Arba Minch.

Day 3: Explore Lake Chamo and Konso Village

  1. Morning boat trip on Lake Chamo to see hippos and crocodiles.
  2. Visit the Konso Cultural Landscape (UNESCO World Heritage Site).
  3. Learn about the Konso tribe’s terraced farming and traditions.

Day 4: Journey to Turmi via Key Afer

  1. Visit the Key Afer market (if it’s market day).
  2. Arrive in Turmi, home of the Hamer tribe.
  3. Enjoy an evening traditional dance performance by the Hamer people.
Day 5

Day 5: Hamer Tribe and Karo Village

  1. Visit the Hamer tribe: learn about their customs and witness a bull-jumping ceremony (if available).
  2. Visit the Karo tribe in Kolcho village, famous for their intricate body paintings.

Day 6: Visit the Dassenech Tribe in Omorate

  1. Cross the Omo River by traditional canoe to meet the Dassenech tribe.
  2. Return to Jinka for an overnight stay.

Day 7: Explore Mago National Park and the Mursi Tribe

  1. Visit Mago National Park and meet the Mursi tribe, known for their lip plates.
  2. Return to Addis Ababa and enjoy a farewell dinner before departure.
  3. End of the tour.
